GUWAHATI: The Eastern Regional Committee (ERC) of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has granted approval for four additional colleges in Assam to offer the Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP). This was announced by Assam Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, announced via X (formerly Twitter) on October 16.

These institutions will provide 4-year B.Ed courses, a significant step in expanding the state's teacher education capacity.
The newly approved colleges are:
-ADP College, in collaboration with Nowgong BEd College
-Rangapara College, in collaboration with Tezpur BEd College
-Golaghat Commerce College, in collaboration with Golaghat BEd College
-Dhakuakhana College
This follows a similar approval last year for four other colleges: Bahona College, North Lakhimpur College, Chaiduar College, and Tyagbir Hem Baruah College.
Minister Pegu stated that it would further strengthen Assam's ability to offer quality teacher education through ITEP.
