GUWAHATI: A two-wheeler accident in the early hours of Monday claimed the life of a former councillor from Pandu in Guwahati. The incident occurred at Shankar Nagar around 2:40 AM on January 6. The individual was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.

The deceased has been identified as Kamal Dey.
While local residents have expressed suspicion of foul play, authorities have dismissed the claims. Speaking to GPlus, an official from Gaushala Outpost stated, “It was a self-accident. No other vehicle was involved. Those who suspect it as a murder are wrong. The post-mortem report (PMR) is yet to be released.”
