GUWAHATI: In a recent move aimed at ensuring timely access to blood for patients in need, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma flagged off five mobile blood donation vans on Tuesday 7.
The ceremony took place at Janata Bhawan, where Assam Minister of Public Health Engineering, Skill Development Employment and Entrepreneurship Jayanta Mallabaruah was also in attendance.
These five mobile blood donation vans have been donated to five hospitals, namely Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, SM Dev Civil Hospital in Cachar, Mangaldai Civil Hospital in Darrang, and Sivasagar Civil Hospital.
The objective of this initiative is to make blood readily available for patients who require it, especially during emergencies.
During the ceremony, key officials, including Additional Chief Secretary for Health, the Secretary, and the Chairman of Assam State Blood Transfusion Council, were also present.
