GUWAHATI: The Co-operative Department of the Assam Government has declared financial assistance for eligible cooperative societies in the state for the fiscal year 2023-24. The application process is now open, and cooperative societies can submit their applications until December 24, 2023, through the official website farcs.assam.gov.in.
The financial aid initiative is aimed at supporting cooperative societies registered under the Assam Cooperative Societies Act, 2007, especially those operating systematically in Gram Panchayats. The key focus areas for financial assistance include women empowerment-oriented cooperative societies, dairy production cooperatives, fishery cooperative societies, and oilseed production cooperatives.
Application Guidelines:
1. Gram Panchayat Cooperatives: Societies registered under the Assam Cooperative Societies Act, 2007, and operating systematically are eligible for financial aid.
2. Women Empowerment Cooperatives: Special encouragement will be provided to cooperative societies focused on empowering women.
3. Dairy Production Cooperatives: Financial assessment will be conducted for dairy production cooperatives for the fiscal years 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2022-23.
4. Fishery Cooperatives: Societies involved in fishery production will undergo assessment for financial assistance.
5. Oilseed Production Cooperatives: Cooperatives engaged in the production of edible oils will be eligible for financial assistance for the fiscal year 2022-23.
Application Process:
1. Cooperative societies in the general sector, operational for a minimum of three years, are eligible.
2. Societies in the fishery and oilseed sectors will undergo sector-specific assessments.
3. The application submission deadline is from December 14, 2023, to December 24, 2023.
