GUWAHATI: In a tragic incident on Saturday night, five members of the same family went missing after their car reportedly lost control and fell into the Dikhow river on Saturday.
The five members of the family are Haren Borah (Husband), Ponou Borah (Grandmother), Phunu Borah (Mother), Chimpi Borah (Daughter) and Munmi Borah (Daughter).
The incident took place while the family was travelling from Guwahati to Sivasagar.
According to initial reports, Haren Borah was in the driver’s seat along with his wife Phunu Borah.
According to sources, Haren Borah is a businessman and wife Phunu Borah works at Artfed, Ambari.
SDRF and NDRF have launched a rescue operation. However, the operation has stopped due to rain right now.
