Despite the prior circulation of an annexure form on social media revealing the alleged closure of these offices, the Revenue and Disaster Management Department confirmed that no such decision has been made, as of yet.

In a statement, Deputy Secretary Alakananda Medhi clarified that while there is a proposal under consideration for reorganising revenue circles, it does not involve the closure of any existing offices.

The reorganisation will solely focus on streamlining administrative processes by aligning revenue circles with the newly created co-districts, which are coterminous with legislative assembly constituencies.

Assam Revenue Minister Jogen Mohan also issued an update regarding the same.

As per reports, the minister clarified that any potential closure of revenue circle offices will not occur until next year. "This was a concept we discussed in order to align most offices with the new co-districts," he reportedly said. "But there will be no sudden change at least until January next year. The public do not need to be worried regarding this matter."

The clarification comes in response to growing public anxiety, with the government reassuring citizens that services at existing revenue circle offices will continue uninterrupted.
