GUWAHATI: Assam Police seized drugs worth over ₹5 crore and arrested multiple individuals in a series of anti-narcotics operations across the state on Tuesday, February 18.

In South Salmara, a joint operation with the Border Security Force (BSF) near the Indo-Bangladesh border resulted in the recovery of 7,200 YABA tablets and 50 grams of brown sugar, valued at approximately ₹3 crore.
Meanwhile, Cachar Police seized 174 grams of heroin and arrested two individuals, while another raid led to the confiscation of 116 grams of heroin and one arrest. The total estimated value of the seized heroin stands at ₹2.05 crore.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the Assam Police on social media platform X, commending their efforts in tackling the drug menace.
