GUWAHATI: The Defence Research Laboratory (DRL) of DRDO, Tezpur, conducted a specialised training session regarding water purification technology at Missamari Military Station, on Saturday, September 14.
This session focused on the efficiency of the "Iron Removal Unit (IRU) and DRDO Water Testing Kit," intended for supporting Army units stationed in remote areas of Sonitpur district.
DRL scientists provided a comprehensive overview of the IRU’s installation, operation, and maintenance. Detailed training was also given on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the IRU, along with hands-on demonstrations of the DRDO Water Testing Kit.
The kit can detect 11 critical parameters, including hazardous contaminants like iron, arsenic, fluoride, and bacteria, which pose serious health risks.
More than 15 Army units participated in this session.
