GUWAHATI: A healthcare professional has been alleged to have been practicing in Guwahati with a fake degree. An FIR was filed regarding the matter at Basistha Police Station (PS) against Bolram Mohapatra.
Bolram has been working with Agile Hospital located in Jayanagar, Sixmile and involved with pediatrics. As per reports, he has been practicing for the last 10 years. The matter was informed to G Plus by Madhurjya Deori, Sub-inspector (SI) of Basistha PS.
"We have investigated the matter and have asked the doctor to submit his documents. These will be sent to the Silchar Medical College for verification," Madhurjya Deori told G Plus.
The Agile Hospital authorities have clarified the matter to G Plus. As per the director of the hospital, Hirumoni Saikia, the said person was never a full time professional or a consultant. "He approached us saying he wanted to learn. So we let him in," Saikia told G Plus.
Following the case, the hospital has freed Mohapatra from his services.
As understood from the police and sources close to the matter, Bolram Mohapatra has claimed that he completed MBBS-AM course.
