GUWAHATI: In a disturbing incident in Dhekiajuli, Sonitpur, a video has emerged showing a businessman named Dadul Sharma brutally beating two small children on suspicion of stealing his mobile phone.
The businessman has been arrested on December 15.
The shocking footage captures Sharma slapping, kicking, and pulling the hair of the minors, all while a police official is present.
The video has sparked outrage and concern among the public, highlighting the vulnerability of minors. The incident raises questions about the role of authorities in ensuring the safety and protection of children.
Responding to the incident, Director General of Police (DGP), Assam GP Singh released a statement on Friday confirming that the accused, Dadul Sharma, has been arrested.
Singh has assured that follow-up lawful actions are being taken to address the incident appropriately.
