The Customs department seized a 200 year old telescope that belonged to the East India Company. The Tracker Telescope was seized by Customs officers’ at Kahilipara from a person who was looking for a buyer from Bhutan.
A case has been booked under Customs Act and Antiquities and Treasures Act 1972.
The archaeological survey of India is examining the piece to ascertain the genuineness of the antique’s value.
