GUWAHATI: In an all-out Assam Bandh called by the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) over the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 being cleared by the Cabinet, the AASU has taken an aggressive stance to ensure that the bandh is observed strongly.
“Our bandhs have always been non-violent and peaceful and we will continue to protest and call for bandhs in a peaceful way.
The reports we have received from other States is that the bandh is successful. It is a complete statewide and regional bandh.
Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh have all observed the bandh,” said Samujjal Bhattacharya, AASU Advisor.
