GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has directed the forest department officials to tranquilise the elephant which has killed three more people in Goalpara district.
The deceased have been identified as Minoti Kalita, Jahanara Khatun and Mizanur Islam.
The jumbo which has been named as ‘Laden’, is on a killing spree and CM Sonowal has asked the officials to relocate it to a safer forest. He has also announced an ex gratia of Rs. 4 Lakh to the kin of the deceased.

On Tuesday, October 29, CM Sonowal held a meeting with DC, SP and other senior officials of Goalpara and took stock of recent man-elephant conflict in the district.
