CM flags off free bus services for women employees of Janata Bhawan

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal flagged off six number of ASTC buses for women employees of Janata Bhawan under Sustainable Development Goal programme at a simple function held at the premises of Janata Bhawan today.

The idea of providing free bus services exclusively to the women employees of Janata Bavan was emphasised by Sarbananda Sonowal for the to-and-fro conveyance of the women employees.

Flagging off the services, Sonowal said that providing busses to the women employees of the Janata Bhawan was one of the budget promises and he felt happy to have fulfilled the budget promise to ensure safety and convenience to the women employees of the Janata Bhawan. He also asked the ASTC authority to maintain proper timings in operating the buses. He also said that providing the free bus services to the women employees would help them to come to their place of work without any difficulty which he hopes would contribute to the development of sound work culture.

Sonowal handed over traveller identity cards to women employees.

He also announced that  two crèches would be opened in Janata Bhawan one for the age group of 6 months to 3 years and other for 3 years to 6 years for the children of the employees of the Janata Bhavan. Earlier MLA Angoorlata had raised the concern that Janata Bhawan should provide creche facilities for the kids, as it becomes very difficult for the new mothers to leave alone the babies at home and come for work. The initiative is now likely to solve the problem for many women.
