In an incident that took place in the city on Thursday night, two students met with an unfortunate accident after they fell from the 7th floor of a building.
Reportedly, the incident took place at the 'Basera Retreat' apartment when the marble slabs of the building where the students were sitting broke, leading the students to fall off the building.
One student identified as Rupak Das was reported spot dead. Prabin Gupta, a student of Gauhati University was severely injured in the accident.
The owner of the apartment where the incident took place is Jogesh Doloi.
According to sources, Prabin along with two other students of Gauhati University were residing as tenants at the apartment. Rupak Das came to visit his friend on Wednesday night when the accident took place.
Prabin is currently under treatment at Ayursundra Hospital.
