GUWAHATI: In reply to ex-Assam DGP Harekrishna Deka’s claim of EVM malfunction at a polling booth in Guwahati, Mukesh Sahu informed a local media house that in this instance, Deka should declare the situation to the Presiding Officer.
He said that the Presiding Officer will give him a form where Deka will have to declare his statement as true. However, if found false, action will be taken against him.

He further mentioned that if Deka chooses to declare this, he will have to prove by giving a test vote. The form number is 49 (MA).
Earlier today, former DGP Assam Police, Harekrishna Deka, who was one of the early morning voters, alleged that the machine he cast his vote on and the VVPAT did not show the same information as his vote.
