The CBI will probe the cases under the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act, 1946.

At least 65 persons have been arrested in connection with the cases so far, including a few celebrities. The cases are registered under the banning of Unregulated Deposit Schemes Act, 2019, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Reports have quoted Dibrugarh Superintendent of Police Rakesh Reddy saying that relevant files have been handed over to the CBI and the police are cooperating with the agency.

The scam’s modus operandi was to lure prospective investors with assured returns which were either never given or dried up soon leaving them high and dry.
