Car Catches Fire On Adabari Flyover, Disrupts Traffic In Guwahati

 

GUWAHATI: A four-wheeler caught fire on the Adabari Flyover in Guwahati on Saturday, April 5, causing significant traffic disruption on the busy stretch connecting Jalukbari to Maligaon.

The incident occurred around evening and led to panic among commuters using the flyover. Eyewitnesses confirmed that no individual was inside the vehicle at the time of the blaze, and no injuries were reported.



“We are at the site where the incident took place. Further details will be provided once the situation is taken care of,” a traffic official from Jalukbari Police Station told GPlus.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at the time of reporting. Authorities are expected to conduct an investigation to ascertain what led to the vehicle catching fire. Meanwhile, fire and emergency services were deployed promptly to douse the flames and clear the route.

Traffic movement towards Maligaon was heavily affected for a brief period, with vehicles being redirected. Normal flow resumed after emergency services brought the situation under control.
