GUWAHATI: The drains at Arya Nagar in Guwahati have overflown creating problems for the residents. The GMC fails to take action despite several complaints.

Harshita, a school student, says, "Every day I use the road while going to my school... Drains are clogged. They overflow. Our parents have been constantly complaining about the situation, but no action has been taken."
Speaking to GPlus, a local shop owner said, "The situation gets even worse in the rainy season.. Look at the situation now. Dirty water everywhere on the road. It smells very bad. Mosquitoes breed leading to health problems."
An official from GMC said, " I can't say anything right now...We are working on it...We are trying our best to clean the drains so that the general public doesn't face any issues."
It is not just one or two locations in Guwahati, but similar pictures can be seen in other areas of the city as well.
