Cannabis Worth ₹1.4 Crore Seized Near Assam-Arunachal Border

 

GUWAHATI: In a recent development in the ongoing campaign against narcotics, the Udalguri Police intercepted and confiscated a substantial quantity of cannabis valued at approximately ₹1.4 crore. 

The operation was carried out by a team from the Mazbat Police Station near the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border, under the jurisdiction of Mazbat Police Station, on March 25.

The seizure marks a crucial milestone in the police department's efforts to curb the illicit drug trade in the region. The intercepted cannabis, with its high market value, underscores the magnitude of the illegal drug network operating along the border areas.

Law enforcement authorities have initiated lawful action against the individuals involved in the transportation and distribution of the seized narcotics. The seizure comes as part of the state’s initiative aimed at eradicating drug-related activities.
