GUWAHATI: The Border Security Force (BSF) Guwahati Frontier successfully thwarted a smuggling attempt on Wednesday, January 8, seizing 416 bottles of prohibited cough syrup and other contraband valued at ₹3.09 lakh. In addition, 11 cattle were rescued during various operations conducted along the Indo-Bangladesh border.

Notably, the BSF has confiscated narcotics and contraband worth ₹12.7 crore between January 1 and November 29, 2024. The details of these operations were disclosed by BSF Deputy Inspector General Harmeet Singh.
Among the seized items are 68,851 bottles of Phensedyl, 1,655 kilograms of ganja, 3,060 grams of gold, 10,881 Yaba tablets, 1,017 bottles of liquor, and 1.86 lakh kilograms of sugar.
