Brahmaputra Above Danger Mark in Guwahati, Over 13 Lakh People Affected in Assam

GUWAHATI: The water level in the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati has crossed the danger mark again and is now at 50.47 cms. The danger level of the river is 49.68 cms and 48.68 cms is the warning mark.

Meanwhile, floods have affected around 13 lakh people in over 2,000 villages across 24 districts of Assam so far as per Assam State Disaster Management’s latest flood report.

Over 21,000 people have been taking shelter in 224 relief camps and centers set up across the state. 

More than 82,000 hectares of crop area is now submerged underwater with over 12 lakh domestic animals both big and small affected by the disaster.

Two more deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours from Nagaon taking the death toll by floods up to 44.
