Bollywood Actress Manisha Koirala to inaugurate a walk against Tobacco and Cancer in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A walk against tobacco and cancer is being organised by ‘Deepsikha- A Trust for Cancer Care,’ an NGO that helps poor patients get good cancer treatment across the country. 

Bollywood actress, Manisha Koirala, who is a cancer survivor herself, will inaugurate the walkathon. 

The event, called ‘Vijay’ will be held on February 10. The route for the walk will begin in Judge’s Field and end by the administrative building of Cotton University in the city. The event will start from 10:30 a.m. 

The aim of the walkathon is to spread awareness about the dangers of using tobacco and about cancer prevention and treatment. 

This walkathon is being organised in collaboration with SBI Life Insurance and Cotton University. 

Koirala will also be attending a special session at the 3rd Brahmaputra Literary Festival on February 10, called ‘Healed: Surviving Cancer’ where the actress will share details about how she battled ovarian cancer, the type of treatment she underwent in the US and how she rebuilt her life once she got back home.
