GUWAHATI: The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police seized heroin at Basistha under their local Police Station in Guwahati and apprehended three persons, on April 9.

The raid netted a plastic packet containing a kilogram of suspected heroin besides the three individuals.

The apprehended persons have been identified as Suman Talukdar (32) from Tinsukia, Audulomi Goyari (35) from Udalguri and Nersing Basumatary (57) from Dhemaji.
Besides, three mobile phones have also been seized which are believed to have been used in these illicit activities.
The individuals have been taken into custody and legal proceedings are under way. Further details are awaited.
