GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam (DVAC) apprehended a person on alleged bribery charges in Hengrabari, Guwahati on Monday, May 13.

The person, Jayanta Goswami is an Executive Engineer (PHE) working at the Office of the Superintending Engineer (PHE), North Lakhimpur Circle who was caught red-handed by DVAC operatives in an entrapment operation at Hengrabari, Guwahati.

Goswami was allegedly caught accepting a sum of ₹20,000 as bribe from a complainant. This illicit transaction was in exchange for facilitating the clearance of pending bills.
The individual has been taken into custody and further details are awaited.
