GUWAHATI: The Assam Government announced the release of the second installment of the Special Objective for Plain Areas Development–General (SOPD-G) fund as part of a decision in the state cabinet meeting on January 22.
The amount allocated is ₹400 crore, towards the development of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). This funding, falling under Grants No.78, is designated for normal works and is a crucial financial injection for the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) for the fiscal year 2023-24.
The SOPD-G fund is designated to address various developmental needs, contributing to the overall upliftment of the Bodoland Territorial Region.
The second installment of the SOPD-G fund is to ensure well-rounded development in the BTC area. It will play an important role in supporting initiatives that span infrastructure development, community welfare, education, healthcare, and other essential sectors.
