BJP Will Win More Than 100 Seats in Assam: Nadda

GUWAHATI: Exuding confidence after back to back success in elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda said that his party would return to power in Assam by winning more than 100 seats in the upcoming assembly elections.

Nadda addressed a “Vijay Sankalpa” (victory pledge) rally in Barak Valley’s Silchar, beginning the party’s campaign for the assembly elections, likely to be held in April-May.

Nadda also said that his party is committed to protect the unique culture and language of the state and will always stand by the people of Assam.

“From Assam agitation to conferring Bharat Ratna to Dr Bhupen Hazarika and Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi, BJP has always been with the people of Assam. We remain etched to our commitment to preserve your culture and language,” said Nadda addressing a public rally in Silchar in Barak Valley region of the state today.

Nadda is the second among the BJP top brass to visit the state in a little over a fortnight after Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit on December 26-27.
