Biswajit Pegu has taken charge as the new Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kamrup (Metro) today. A 2009 batch IAS, he was previously serving as the D.C of Nagaon.
Pegu was appointed as Kamrup (Metro) DC on 9th January 2019 after the Assam government made major changes in its state bureaucracy with the issue of an order for transfer and posting of 38 bureaucrats in the state.
He replaced Virendra Mittal, the ex DC of Kamrup (Metro) who has now been appointed as Secretary to the Government of Assam, Home and Political Department.
