Bank Employee Attempting To Flee Apprehended In Alleged Bribery In Nagaon

 

GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), Assam, executed a targeted operation resulting in the apprehension of an individual on the alleged charges of bribery in Dhing, Nagaon on February 8.

The individual has been identified as Aftab Hussain, Branch In-charge of Assam Gramin Vikas Bank at the Dhing Branch, located in the Nagaon. The operation unfolded as Aftab Hussain was caught allegedly accepting a demanded bribe in his car at Dhing, specifically for the approval of loans to Self Help Groups.

Upon the approach of the trap team, Aftab Hussain attempted to evade arrest by fleeing in his car. However, Nagaon Police facilitated his apprehension, and the tainted bribe money was successfully recovered.

DVAC took to X to put out, “2nd trap of the day! @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped Aftab Hussain, Branch In-charge, Assam Gramin Vikas Bank, Dhing Branch, Dist: Nagaon for accepting demanded bribe in his car, at Dhing, for sanctioning loans to Self Help Groups. Ref: Trap of Aftab Hussain, upon seeing trap team, he fled in his car. He was apprehended  with help of @nagaonpolice and the tainted bribe money recovered.”
