Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, President, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) and Member of Parliament from Dhubri, over a tweet on Thursday, announced that he rejected the membership of Joint Hajj Committee.
I, with due regards to all, reject the membership of Joint Hajj Committee. The Govt made me a member without my consent, without even showing the courtesy to inform me. Let Holy Hajj be kept out of political interference.

Ajmal has also alleged that he was made a member of the committee without his consent, and he was not informed about the membership.
"Let Holy Hajj be kept out of political interference," he tweeted.
