Assam To Distribute PMAY-G Approval Letters On March 19, To Benefit 3.88L People

 

GUWAHATI: The Assam government will distribute approval letters for the first installment under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) on Wednesday, March 19. This move will seek to accommodate houses for 3,88,358 beneficiaries across the state.

“Fulfilling Housing Aspirations of our people,” Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on X. “On 19th March, we will ceremonially distribute sanction letters to 3,88,358 beneficiaries of PMAY-G, who will soon have a home to call their own.”

Following a video conference with district commissioners and co-district commissioners to oversee preparations for the distribution process, Sarma directed officials to ensure a smooth and simultaneous rollout across all districts.

Additionally, the chief minister assessed the education sector, focusing on the appointment and remuneration of teachers, improvements in educational infrastructure, and the development of Tea Garden Model Schools.

Key schemes such as the Dr. Banikanta Kakati Merit Award under Pragyan Bharati Scheme and Mukhya Mantri Nijut Moina Asoni were also discussed.
