GUWAHATI: Three persons were arrested for allegedly harassing some elderly Muslims in Silchar on Thursday, June 27.
The miscreants have been identified as Sabyasathi Chakraborty, Bappa Das and Joydeep Paul.

The people who were harassed include Jamir Uddin Laskar, Najir Ahmed Laskar and Abdul Kalique Choudhury, all residents of Cachar district.
According to reports, the harassed were coming out of the deputy commissioner’s office after collecting health cards. The trio will be travelling to Mecca to perform the annual Haj in July.
