Assam: State Govt Likely To Introduce Ambulance Service For Animals

GUWAHATI: Minister for Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Atul Bora said on Friday, September 20 that the state government will likely introduce an ambulance service for dead and injured animals in the interior areas of Assam.

Based on a report by the Hindustan Times, Bora said that a pilot project of six ambulances for livestock has been started in the state’s remote areas where there is a lack of availability of services provided by veterinary doctors. Thus, these livestock ambulances will have veterinary doctors and other staff on board.

Bora further stated that if this pilot project is successful, it would be implemented all throughout the state.
