GUWAHATI: The athletes from Assam have created history at the 37th Goa National Games, amassing an impressive total of 40 medals, with the archery arena witnessing exceptional individual and team performances that have garnered the spotlight.

Mukesh Boro and Jayanta Talukdar made their state proud by securing gold medals in the individual archery events.

Himani Boro, along with her teammates, excelled in the mixed team archery event, clinching the gold.

Assam's archers continued to impress by securing an astonishing 13 silver medals, reaffirming their dominance in this sport.

The bronze medals earned by Assam's archers added to the state's glimmering trophy collection, further underlining the talent and potential of Assam's archery squad.

Assam's Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, took to X to express his joy and pride, congratulating the athletes for their outstanding achievements. His words of encouragement resonated with the entire state, as Assam's athletes received well-deserved recognition and support.

In a standout moment on November 4, Assam's very own Tutumoni Boro emerged as a symbol of excellence by clinching the individual gold in the Archery Indian Rounds, setting a high standard for the youth of Assam.

The 37th National Games held in Goa has provided an exemplary platform for numerous young talents to prove their mettle in various sporting events, with Tutumoni Boro emerging as one of the rising stars, leaving a significant mark in the world of archery.

In the Indian Rounds, the men's archery team, consisting of Arun Boro, Ritumoni Swargiary, Manoranjan Boro, and Rajesh Narzary, displayed exceptional teamwork and pinpoint accuracy, securing gold medals and further cementing Assam's reputation in the sport.

On the other hand, the girls' archery team, comprising Tutumoni Boro, Binamoni Rabha, Pallabi Das, and Pallabi Boro, exhibited their exceptional skills, engaging in a closely contested competition that ultimately earned them well-deserved silver medals.
