Assam: Public Consultation Initiated In 21 Districts For Accurate Valuation Of Tea Garden Land

GUWAHATI: In a move to determine the near-accurate valuation of tea garden land in Assam, the Assam Cabinet has decided to place the zonal valuation of tea garden land in 21 districts for public consultation and finalisation. The initiative, undertaken by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, aims to establish transparent and fair rates for the valuation of tea garden land in the state.

The 21 districts where the zonal valuation of tea garden land will be published for public consultation include Bongaigaon, Biswanath, Charaideo, Cachar, Dhemaji, Darrang, Dibrugarh, Dhubri, Goalpara, Golaghat, Hailakandi, Jorhat, Kamrup, Kamrup (M), Karimganj, Lakhimpur, Morigaon, Nagaon, Sivasagar, Sonitpur, and Tinsukia.

The valuation process is a crucial step towards accurately determining the value of tea garden land in the specified districts. By involving the public in the consultation process, the valuation rates are bound to be fair and reflective of the prevailing market conditions.

Tea garden land holds significant economic and cultural importance in Assam, making it essential to have a reliable and precise valuation mechanism.
