GUWAHATI: The Dudhnoi Development Committee in Assam staged a protest on Thursday, demanding that long-distance trains stop at Dudhnoi Railway Station.
Hundreds of men and women from various political parties, carrying banners and placards, raised slogans demanding that the remote trains be stopped in Dudhnoi.
The protesters went to the railway track to block the train. However, the Railway Police, Assam Police, and CRPF forces prevent protesters from staging their demonstration on the railway station grounds.
While speaking to G Plus, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), said, “The protest arose at around 1:00 PM today afternoon and was subdued within half an hour. We have asked the people to submit a memorandum citing their demands, specifically which trains they wish to stop at the Dudhnoi Railway Station. Once they do so, we’ll look into the matter.”
