GUWAHATI: Guwahati Police has arrested the proxy candidate involved in the scam during the JEE (Mains) examination held at the Ion Digital Zone at Borjhar on September 5.

The arrest was made after an FIR was filed against the student who secured 99.8% in JEE Exams even though he did not appear for the exam held on September 5.

As per the police, the proxy candidate was a 34-year-old who hails from Jharkhand and a former graduate from Delhi College of Engineering. He was residing in Delhi's Ber Sarai.
