Assam Pavilion Inaugurated At 42nd India International Trade Fair In New Delhi

 

GUWAHATI: The Assam Pavilion at the 42nd India International Trade Fair 2023 was inaugurated by Ravi Kota, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries & Commerce), on November 15 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. 

Kota took a tour of the diverse stalls within the pavilion, engaging with the participants and exploring the showcase.

Addressing the media later, Kota talked about the significance of the IITF as a prominent platform to exhibit Assam's rich heritage, abundant resources, and overall splendor on the global stage.

He expressed optimism that the Assam Pavilion, featuring various stalls, would capture the attention of visitors, as per reports.

The Assam Pavilion reportedly highlights several initiatives, including "One District One Product," promotion of Geographical Indication (GI) products such as Assam Lemon, Gamusa, Muga silk, and traditional Assamese dresses. Additionally, it showcases efforts like Ease of Doing Business, Assam Start Up, and commemorates significant achievements such as the largest Bihu performance on April 14, recognised by the Guinness World Record. The Amrit Brikshya Andolan, which witnessed the planting of 1 crore commercial saplings within a record three hours, is also featured.

This year, five government departments/PSUs - DIPR, tourism, NEDFi, AIDC Ltd, AGMC - along with 30 MSME units and two start-ups are actively participating in the event, reports stated.
