GUWAHATI: Acknowledging the rich traditions and customs of the Sikh community in Assam, the Assam Cabinet has approved 'The Assam Anand Marriages Registration Rules, 2023' under the Anand Marriage Act, 1909. This decision is aimed at facilitating the registration of marriages among Sikh individuals in the state and regulating the process of solemnisation and registration.
With a significant population of Sikh community members residing in Assam, the introduction of these rules comes as a much-needed step to address their specific requirements and ensure the sanctity of their marital unions.
