GUWAHATI: The new RCC Bridge on Barama Dhamdhama Tamulpur Road will be inaugurated on October 5 by the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma.

This project, with an estimated cost of ₹29.5 crore, promises to bridge the gap between Tamulpur and Baksa with reduced travel time.

The bridge spans over 193 meters in length and is complemented by 335-meter approach roads on both sides, designed with a guide bund.

The bridge's comprehensive amenities include street lights, plantation areas, crash barriers, and a guard post. The structure aims to establish a direct connection between Tamulpur and Baksa, significantly reducing the travel distance between these two regions.

Previously, the journey between Tamulpur and Mushalpur covered 74 kilometres, however, with the completion of this infrastructure, the distance has been effectively reduced to just 37 kilometres. Through this, the travel time between Tamulpur and Mushalpur has been reduced from two hours to a mere one hour.

The infrastructure is expected to directly benefit over 25,000 residents residing in more than 12 villages situated in the vicinity.

Furthermore, it promises to greatly enhance accessibility to essential services such as education and healthcare facilities, thereby improving the overall quality of life for the local population.
