GUWAHATI: A video circulating on social media has led to the suspension of Police Constable Sanjay Kalita (ABC 591) from the Barpeta DEF division. The footage shows Kalita allegedly accepting a bribe from individuals who were exempted from fines for violating helmet laws on Eid day, March 31, near the Janiya Beki Bridge.

The video quickly gained widespread attention, prompting an immediate investigation. In the footage, Kalita is seen allowing the individuals to proceed without penalties in exchange for money.
Following the investigation, Kalita has been suspended from his duties, and legal action is currently underway.
