Assam: Nagaon Lady Doctor Dies In Car-Bus Collision

GUWAHATI: In a road accident in the Barhampur Nartam village in Nagaon, Assam, a crossover collided with a bus on September 23. A 30-year-old woman, who was inside the crossover, succumbed to her injuries. The victim was identified as Dr Rijuwana Benzir, a resident of MD Road in Nagaon.

According to reports, a bus was hired by the 9th Assam Police Battalion, Kohra, and it was travelling to Kaziranga. The bus carried Assam Police Battalion personnel who were going to attend the meeting that was being held by the Chief Minister of Assam in Kaziranga. While travelling on NH 37, the crossover and the bus collided. The crossover reportedly, had two passengers, a driver and a woman. The driver fled the scene and is on the run.

According to reports, the injured woman was in a painful condition for a long time in the damaged crossover. She was then taken to the Dew Care Nursing Home in Nagaon, where she was later declared dead.

The incident took place under the Itachali Police Outpost.

Speaking to G Plus, the In-charge of the Itachali Police Outpost said, "Unfortunately she died at 3.20 PM. The driver fled from the spot. But we will get him. We have already got his name and address."
