Assam MLA Fined for Traffic Violation in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Assam Bharatiya Janata Party’s Duliajan legislator Terash Gowalla was fined for violating traffic rules in the Chandmari area of Guwahati on February 25.

According to reports, the MLA allegedly came to visit the Chief Engineer’s office of PWD at Chandmari in the afternoon and parked his vehicle at a 'No Parking Zone'.

Meanwhile, a traffic police constable identified as Bishnu Bora of Chandmari police station clamped the wheel of the vehicle and issued a challan.

It is to be mentioned that the MLA later asked the on-duty officer to remove the clamp and allegedly tried to physically assault him.

Later, the senior officers reached the incident spot and fined the MLA.
