GUWAHATI: The Assam police have arrested one Riki Ahmed alias Bicky for allegedly raping a 15-year-old minor girl several times in Dibrugarh.
The accused Riki Ahmed, resident of Kawri Patty area of Naliapool, is the maternal uncle of the victim.
It has been alleged that Riki Ahmed used to drug his niece before raping her.
The man was arrested on the basis of an FIR filed by the family members of the girl, who have alleged that the accused had raped the girl more than 20 times.
A case (no 1513/20) has thus been registered under sections 448/376 D(A)/ 506 of the IPC, Section 4 of Protection of Child from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act.
"Two hours after the case was registered, we had arrested the accused. We found circumstantial evidence that point towards his involvement. It has also been confirmed that he raped the minor two times in the last 15 days," Prateek Thube, Superintendent of Police, Dibrugarh informed G Plus.
He further added that the case is being investigated further in fast-track mode.
