Assam & Ludhiana Police Bust Inter-State Cyber Fraud Gang, Recover ₹5.25 Crore

GUWAHATI: Ludhiana Police, in a multi-state cooperation with Assam Police, brought an inter-state cyber fraud gang down with the arrest of two prime suspects here in Guwahati on Sunday, September 29. Seven more individuals have been nominated in the case.

The operation, which led to the recovery of ₹5.25 crore, ATM cards, and multiple mobile phones, sets a new record as the largest cybercrime asset recovery in the country, according to data from I4C.

Assam DGP GP Singh shared a post in view of this operation in X, saying, "We are always there. Our association with @PunjabPoliceInd has stood the test of time."

The Director General's Commendation Disc was awarded to the Cybercrime team of Ludhiana Commissionerate in recognition of their efforts. This commendation focuses on the commitment and dedication of the team under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Kuldeep Chahal and Cybercrime SHO Inspector Jatinder Singh toward public safety and checking the growing pattern of cyber fraud.

The Assam Police undertook valuable assistance in conducting the inter-state operation for which Ludhiana authorities thanked the Director General of Assam Police. The success of this operation gives testimony to the commitment of the Punjab Police toward swift action against modern crimes.
