GUWAHATI: The Assam government has launched a state-wide crackdown on individuals accused of expressing support for Pakistan following the recent deadly attack in Pahalgam.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma issued a firm statement on X, declaring, “Assam will not tolerate any individual who, directly or indirectly, supports or defends Pakistan in connection with the heinous attack in Pahalgam.”
Assam Police have so far arrested several individuals accused of promoting Pakistan’s cause on social media platforms. Among those taken into custody are Jabir Hussain from Hailakandi, A.K. Bahauddin and Javed Mazumder from Silchar, Mahahar Mia alias Mujihirul Islam from Morigaon, Aminul Islam from Nagaon, and Sahil Ali from Sivasagar.
