GUWAHATI: Kokrajhar district Superintendent of Excise Himonjyoti Bora was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 by a team of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption on Friday, September 10, police said.
The official handle of Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam also shared the news on the micro-blogging website Twitter.
"As part of a drive against corruption, today, a team of Directorate Vigilance & Anti Corruption Assam, caught red-handed Sh Himonjyoti Bora, Superintendent of Excise, Kokrajhar Distt while receiving a bribe of Rs 25000/-," the tweet read.
This was informed by Special Director General of Police (DGP) Law and Order and Director of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption GP Singh on Twitter. He also shared that a case has been registered in this regard against the officer.
