The Chief Secretary emphasised strict adherence to the guidelines issued for the conduct of the examination
GUWAHATI: The Assam government held a video conference with the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) on Tuesday, October 22. This meeting has been intended to review the final phase of the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) 2024, which is scheduled for October 27.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to a fair and transparent process, the Chief Secretary emphasised strict adherence to the guidelines issued for the conduct of the examination.
Training for centre-in-charges, supervisors, and invigilators will be reinforced to guarantee smooth conduct. DCs and SPs were instructed to coordinate effectively for overall supervision, particularly in sensitive centres, ensuring security and proper monitoring.
In addition, the Transport Department will work with stakeholders to facilitate the movement of candidates and the general public, while the concerned authorities will coordinate with Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) for special train services. Proper sanitation at railway platforms and bus stands is also to be maintained.
The police will also closely monitor social media activities, with any concerns reported to the Director General of Police (DGP) and Inspector General (IG) of Law and Order. Female candidates will be checked in a dignified manner, and any misconduct must be immediately reported.
Finally, under the Assam Public Examination Act, 2024, any violations during the examination may result in imprisonment of up to three years. District Magistrates will also enforce Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, restricting access to areas around examination centres on the day of the exam.
The examination will be conducted in two phases across 1,484 centers from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and 808 centres from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM, with a total of 8,27,130 candidates set to appear.
