Assam Government Provides Air Tickets to 70 Children

GUWAHATI: The Assam Government has announced a new program wherein, complete support will be provided by the government for liver, kidney and bone marrow transplant of children below 12 years.


All expenses for travel as well as the surgery will be borne by the health department of the state government.


As part of the program, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on September 19 handed over flight tickets to 70 children who will fly to Bangalore and Kolkata for cardiac surgery and bone marrow transplant.


Announcing the same, the health minister took to his official twitter handle stating, "On this occasion, I took the privilege of announcing another big program. Assam Govt will provide 100% support in best of hospitals for liver, kidney & bone marrow transplant to children below 12 years. We will conduct first screening camp on October 10, 2020."
