GUWAHATI: The BJP led Assam govt has declared Tuesday, September 11, 2018, as a public holiday on account of 'Tithi of Srimanta Sankardeva'.
All the financial institutions and co-operative banks etc., within the state, shall remain closed on account of the public holiday under Negotiable Instruments (NI) Act.
The holidays that are declared by Central/State Governments/ Union Territory under the NI Act, 1881, are considered as a bank holiday.
